Will launch movement for restoration of justice: Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (web desk) –  Nawaz Sharif on Monday has said that analyze verdicts on his and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan cases to observe double standard of the judiciary.

Talking to media before leaving for Punjab House from Judicial Complex, Nawaz Sharif said that he doesn’t know what damage he has done to the national treasure. He said that not taking salary from son was termed as his asset by judicial authorities.

Imran Khan had confessed to doing transactions, he added.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president said that sitting PM was ousted in a second over baseless allegations, continuing, “ We had taken to streets for restoration of judiciary but now, we have to launch movement to safe justice.”

On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar reappeared in the court in connection with three corruption references filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The court recorded the statement of prosecution witnesses Yasir Bashir in Azizia Steel Mills reference and Shakil Anjum Nagra statement in Avenfield properties reference in today’s proceedings.

Nawaz Sharif is nominated suspect in references regarding Avenfield properties, Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment, while Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (r) Safdar are nominated in reference regarding Avenfield properties alone.

SC disqualified Sharif from office in July over unreported sources of annual income of about $10,000, a salary the former premier denies ever receiving. The high court also ordered the NAB to investigate and conduct a trial into the Sharif family’s wider finances, including the London properties.

Sharif maintains control of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party, which elected close ally Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as prime minister after Sharif was disqualified.
