I was Sports minister when Imran sold Pakistan for Kerry Packer series”

MulLTAN: (Web Desk,) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) former Vice President Javed Hashmi has on Monday said that he was Sports minister when the former captain, and current chairman of PTI, Imran Khan had left Pakistan team for Kerry Packer World Series in 1977. “We kept requesting him not to sale Pakistan for Kerry Packer series but he did”, said Hashmi.

Addressing a press conference in Multan, Javed Hashmi said that he considered himself standing in Ka’bah and was saying it on oath that he had told Imran Khan the technocrat system would be the initiation of martial law in Pakistan. “When I told Imran Khan to take back his statement on the technocrat system, only then did he take his words back”, Hashmi added.

Hashmi went on to claim yet again that Imran Khan had told him about the some judges who would dislodge the parliaments after the retirement of former chief justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani. Imran Khan asked how the martial law would be imposed if the judges did it, he said.

The senior politician said that other party leaders including Arif Alvi and Shirien Mazari had come to him and requested him to talk Pakistan out of attacking the parliament. He said that he talked to Imran Khan and he agreed to the pleadings. He added that Asad Umar, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Jahangir Tareen were also present on the occasion. But suddenly Imran decided to move ahead and attack the parliament, he said.

Lashing out at former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf, Javed Hashmi said that Musharraf was a coward and a scoundrel who had no shame whatsoever. “Musharraf removed the constitution, he isn’t respectable for me”, he said.

Javed Hashmi also came down heavy on the judges’ verdict on Panama Leaks, saying that the international media abhorred the court decision.

He called for General Zaheer ul-Islam’s court martial and also demanded Justice Asif Saeed Khosa’s case to be sent to Supreme Judicial Council.
