SC rejects PML-N’s allegations against Imran Khan, disqualifies Jahangir Tareen L

ISLAMABAD (web desk) – While announcing the verdict on PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi s petitions, the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Friday dismissed plea to disqualify Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan while disqualified PTI General Secretary Jahangir Tareen for life.

Abbasi had filed the petition in November last year, accusing the PTI leaders Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen of not declaring their assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan and violations of the lncome Tax Ordinance, 1979, and Peoples Act, 1974.

At the moment, Imran Khan is in Karachi while Jahangir Tareen did not appear in the court. Senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), including Hanif Abbasi, are present in the courtroom number one.

While announcing the verdict, the apex court has also dismissed the allegation of foreign funding against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
