Dar assets frozen

ISLAMABAD (web desk ) – A Lahore-based team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided the house of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday after his summon regarding corruption references in accountability court was issued last week.

The Lahore NAB team investigation team reached Islamabad and raided existing minister s house. They interrogated the suspects. Dar wasn t present in his residence as he departed for the United States (US) along with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.

Sources revealed that the team contained two persons and showed court summons to the residents. They were showed bailable arrest warrant of Ishaq Dar that were issued by NAB court today.

Dar s domestic employees received the arrest warrant, sources claimed. The finance minister has been ordered by the court to appear in reference regarding his assets.

Assets frozen

NAB has also frozen the assets held by Dar after directions to all banks, development authorities and commissioners in writing. Banks have been told to suspend the transactions until further orders. NAB has confiscated his movable and non-movable assets.

Earlier today, accountability court had heard a reference against Dar on the directions of Supreme Court – in Panama case verdict – that is related to his assets beyond the known sources of income. The judge expressed fury over his absence from the court. He was told to submit surety bond worth Rs. 1M to secure the bail.

The court also ordered Ishaq Dar to appear in the reference case on September 25.

Letters have been dispatched to deputy commissioner and excise department to check transfers of properties and vehicles ownd by Ishaq Dar.

The letters warn that the official who processes transfer of any of his valuables could be subjected to three years in prison.
